Led by Real Public Safety and Emergency Management Experience
Dan Gentry brings more than 20 years of experience across fire service, law enforcement, emergency preparedness, search and rescue, and federal emergency management.
His background includes service as a firefighter/EMT, law enforcement officer, emergency management specialist, preparedness professional, fire investigator, search and rescue K9 handler, and Urban Search and Rescue instructor.
That experience shaped the way VertexPoint Solutions approaches preparedness: calm, practical, direct, and focused on what people actually need to do before, during, and after an emergency.
Experience Where the Stakes Were High
Dan’s career includes work in some of the most complex and high-consequence environments in the country.
His experience includes:
- Selected as the United States Capitol Police Emergency Manager for the 59th Presidential Inaugural Ceremonies
- Emergency and crisis management planning on Capitol grounds
- Response to the events of January 6, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol
- Development of mitigation and emergency response protocols for the Architect of the U.S. Capitol
- Restructuring active shooter response training provided to the United States Senate community and staff
- Planning and support for National Security Special Events, including A Capitol Fourth, the National Memorial Day Concert, and Joint Sessions of Congress
- Congressional continuity planning, exercises, recovery planning, and operational support
- Prior experience as a firefighter/EMT, law enforcement officer, certified fire investigator, search and rescue K9 handler, and Urban Search and Rescue instructor
