Founded by Dan Gentry, VertexPoint Solutions emerged from a passion for emergency management, emergency preparedness, personal security, and a commitment to making a difference. With 20 years of experience as a first responder and an emergency management and preparedness professional, Dan brings a wealth of expertise to the table.

Some of his career highlights include:

• Hand-selected as the United States Capitol Police Emergency Manager for the 59th Inaugural Ceremonies, where he led emergency and crisis management activities on Capitol grounds.
• Response to the events of January 6th, 2021, at the U.S. Capitol, showcasing his ability to handle high-stakes situations.
• Developing mitigation and emergency response protocols for the Architect of the U.S. Capitol.
• Restructuring the Response to Active Shooter training provided to the United States Senate community and staff.
• Certified as an expert witness in narcotics, adding a legal and investigative dimension to his expertise.
• Former Search and Rescue K9 handler and Urban Search and Rescue Instructor, highlighting his hands-on experience in critical operations.
• Certified Fire Investigator, showcasing his investigative skills.
• Planned and directed both large and small-scale National Security Special Events (NSSE), such as “A Capitol Fourth,” “National Memorial Day Concert,” and joint sessions of Congress.
• Planned for, exercised, and directed Congressional continuity programs, as well as recovery planning and operations, ensuring governmental functions during emergencies.

He is also the recipient of multiple awards and citations from his time as a firefighter and police officer. His experience with high-stakes situations has shaped VertexPoint Solutions into a trusted provider of emergency management, preparedness, and security training and consulting.
